Pak Army Museum was established in 1961 in an improvised warehouse near General Headquarters to preserve and chronicle Pakistan Army’s history. A need was felt to construct a new museum building on Iftikhar Janjua Road, Rawalpindi, which was completed in December 1993. Over a period of time, the museum was renovated and refurbished to depict our martial heritage in a yet more chronological manner while making the displays more attractive and interesting for visitors including official delegations to General Headquarters.
The renovated 50,000 square feet covered area neo-classical architecture Pak Army Museum houses artifacts, paintings, photographs, sculptures and dioramas in its lobbies, fourteen galleries and outer area that tell the story of the Pakistan Army with reference to its historical background, birth, reconstitution and re-organization at the time of Independence, its wars, alarms and excursions and peace time services to the nation.
For security concerns and public safety, opening / closing hours of the museum may be adjusted without prior notice.
The nearest car park to the Museum for all visitors including disabled is located at CSD Supper Mall Rawalpindi.
